Ollivier Cottenceau Phénomène

The world's first dealcoholized wine made from Melon de Bourgogne — the grape behind Muscadet. Technically a pure Muscadet from Domaine de la Grenaudière, an estate established in 1723 in the Clisson and Château Thébaud Crus Communaux of the Sèvre et Maine. Mathilde Ollivier and Stéphane Cottenceau are the 8th generation of the family. Cannot legally carry the Muscadet appellation due to absence of alcohol, but the terroir-driven character is preserved through sur lies aging (minimum 6 months) before gentle vacuum distillation in Germany. Lean, food-friendly, with notes of citrus, high minerality and brisk salinity. Rated 92 points by Sarah Kate MS — 'an accomplished drink with considerable personality, character and complexity.' A landmark wine for the NA category.
