Cognato, meaning “closely related to,” was founded by cousins David Sommestad and Adam Malmnäs with a simple ambition: to create dealcoholized wine they would genuinely want to drink themselves. As wine lovers and parents, they were looking for something elegant, dry and food-friendly — not overly sweet, not simplistic, and never a compromise. That idea became Cognato: a collection of dealcoholized wines made for real meals, real moments, and modern life.
