From Bibo Runge, one of Germany's most admired natural wine producers, based in Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau. The Deserteur line launched in December 2020, with the name being a play on words (the alcohol 'deserted' the wine). Vineyards are worked entirely by hand and the winery aims for carbon neutrality. Made from Rheingau Riesling on clay and flint soils with hand-harvested grapes and spontaneous fermentation, then dealcoholized. Member of Fair'n Green sustainability initiative.
